Event security in Basel ranges from a corporate drinks reception with a hundred guests to a concert or trade fair with several thousand visitors. What all events have in common is this: a security service is good when guests perceive it as friendly and helpful — and when it knows immediately what to do if an emergency arises.
Our Head of Security, Jecheskel Bloch, brings many years of experience in event security. The Wingsecurity team has worked together for years and knows how events run: from planning with the organiser and managing entry through to an orderly close once the last guests have left the venue.
Our tasks at your event
The tasks we take on depend on the type, size and audience of your event. They often include:
- Entry control with ticket or guest list checks, age checks and — if agreed — bag checks
- Crowd management: directing visitor flows and avoiding bottlenecks at entrances, bars and cloakrooms
- Keeping escape and rescue routes clear, as well as access routes for the emergency services
- Protection of backstage, artist and VIP areas, including accreditation checks
- A presence in the hall or on the grounds, acting as a point of contact for guests and staff
- Guarding the stage, technical equipment and materials before, during and after the event
Security concept and cooperation with the authorities
The larger the event, the more important a written security concept becomes. In it, we set out where each post is located, how entrances and exits are organised, who makes decisions in the event of an incident and how communication between the organiser, security service, medical services and authorities works.
Permits and official requirements for an event are applied for by the organiser. We help you present the security aspects clearly and align our deployment with the requirements — for example on maximum capacity, escape routes or cooperation with the police.
De-escalation rather than confrontation
Most conflicts at events are minor: a guest without a ticket, a dispute at the cloakroom, someone who has had too much to drink. Our staff resolve such situations calmly and respectfully before they escalate. They appear in the agreed attire — from highly visible security clothing to a discreet suit at a gala dinner.
If required, we can add close protection for high-profile guests or a reception service with guest registration.
What we need from you for planning
The earlier we are involved, the better the deployment can be planned. The following is helpful:
- Date, times including set-up and dismantling, venue and expected number of guests
- Type of event and audience (private function, public, with alcohol served)
- Site plan showing entrances, emergency exits, backstage and parking
- Official requirements, if already known
- Contact persons at the organiser, for technical equipment and for catering
